Goce Delcev University started with 7 faculties and one high school: Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Pedagogy, Faculty of Mining Geology and Polytechnic, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Art, Faculty of Music and Information School.
Since the academic year 2008/09, 6 (six) new faculties are part of the University: Faculty of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Technology and Faculty of Business and Tourism.
In the first academic year of the University there were 1300 students enrolled.
